Scars That Heal

Domestic violence and child abuse are a major problem in our society. Millions are affected and many never recover mentally and/or physically from abuse. Our story is about Breezy Reynolds, a social worker in the south, who in helping thousands with government assistance, meets a very young single Mexican/American mother of two, Rosa. Rosa is not only struggling with providing and caring for her two children, but also is dealing with an abusive boyfriend, who is also the father of one of her children. Breezy knows the abusive signs well and gets involved in Rosa’s personal life. This new relationship brings out the troubled past that Breezy has buried in the back of her mind, and has never spoke of the terrible things she endured as a young child and mother herself, even to her present family of many years.
